Endless choice can make movie night harder. A short decision process can help you move from browsing to watching.
Start with one constraint
Choose genre, language, decade or runtime first. The movie genres guide can help you narrow the field.
Add one preference
Decide whether you want something funny, intense, emotional, clever or visually spectacular.
Limit the shortlist
Compare only a few candidates instead of opening dozens of tabs. For example, compare Inception with The Dark Knight if you want two different kinds of suspense and spectacle.
Read for relevance
A useful synopsis should tell you enough to decide without spoiling the story.
Save future picks
Keep a shortlist of movies you want to watch later so the next movie night starts faster. See our movie-night ideas for more ways to choose.
